Visit to the Kissane Sheep Farm

Easter Sunday afternoon we visited the Kissane Sheep Farm. Just a short drive from Kenmare, we made the trip mainly because Abby loved the sheep we'd been passing in the car over the last few days, and we all thought it would be neat.

We each instantly fell in love with the week-old lamb (shown above). Noel, one of the operators/directors of the farm gave us a tour of the inside of one of the barns where they house sheep and newborn lambs. He introduced us to this little guy, and explained how his mother had passed away right after he was born. Noel told us they have been bottle feeding him for the past week, so we each took turns feeding him.

We got a chance to check out some of the other lambs, many were only a few weeks old and one was only several hours old.

The farm has an adoption program, so we decided to adopt the little guy. Of course we just had to do it, and Abs and I decided to name him "Jersey." What a great way to spend Easter!

I'm headed back to London for the weekend, to visit Lia and Melissa! Check back for more on Sunday!
